Flat & Flush Markers

For lawn sections and cremated remains plots where upright memorials are not permitted — discreet, durable, and beautifully finished.

About Flat & Flush Markers

Many modern cemetery sections — particularly lawn sections and cremated remains gardens — require memorials to be flat or flush with the ground. This is to allow the cemetery to be maintained by machinery and to preserve a uniform appearance across the section.

A flat marker may be smaller and lower than an upright headstone, but it is no less meaningful or beautiful. We apply the same level of craftsmanship to every flat marker we produce — precise lettering, fine surface finishes, and careful installation.

We are familiar with the flat marker regulations at all the cemeteries we serve and will advise you on the correct size, thickness, and fixing method for your chosen site. All our flat markers are installed with proper foundations and fixings to ensure they remain secure and level for years to come.

Types Available

Flush Lawn Marker

A flat stone set level with the ground — required in many lawn sections where upright memorials are not permitted. Durable, discreet, and beautifully finished.

Low Profile Tablet

A slightly raised flat tablet, typically 50–100mm above ground level. Provides more visibility than a flush marker while remaining within most lawn section regulations.

Cremated Remains Marker

A small flat marker for cremated remains plots and scatter gardens. Available in a range of sizes to suit different site regulations.

Memorial Plaque

A flat inscribed plaque for mounting on memorial walls, columbarium niches, and garden structures. Available in granite, marble, and bronze.

Ledger Stone

A full-size flat stone covering the entire grave space — a traditional form that provides a large surface for inscriptions and artwork.

Kerb Set with Flat Tablet

A kerb surround with a flat tablet laid within — combines the defined border of a kerb set with the low profile of a flat marker.

Inscriptions & Finishes

Flat markers can be inscribed with name, dates, and a personal tribute. We offer laser engraving and sandblasted lettering in a range of typefaces, with gold, silver, and painted finishes available.

Surface finishes include polished, honed (matt), and flamed (textured). A polished surface with recessed lettering is the most popular choice for flat markers as it provides maximum legibility and durability.
